The Craft Club

Tockwith craft club has evolved over the years. When it started, over 18 years ago (as at 2024), the idea was to try out as many different crafting skills as we could. This involved purchasing lots of different materials and equipment and much trial and error by our lovely members. We had a lot of fun learning new skills, including candle-making, jewellery making, working with raffia, crochet, knitting, sewing, embroidery, cross-stitch, collage, glass painting, greetings cards, picture framing, box making and many more too numerous to list. As the years have gone by it is fair to say that our members would now prefer to work on a smaller number of crafts that they prefer. What remains important, however, is the social aspect of our group meetings and being able to share our crafting successes with like-minded friends who appreciate the effort that has gone into each of the lovely items that we make.

If you would like to join us, we meet in Tockwith village hall every Monday from 1pm to 3pm during school term time. The first week is free then just £3 per week attended, which includes refreshments and lots of opportunity to chat! Joining in with group activities is not compulsory – you are very welcome to bring your own crafts to do if you wish.
